You may know John Fury as the father of Tyson Fury. However, in recent months, he has been making headlines in the boxing world over his intriguing and amusing personality. Leading up to the ‘MISFITS – Prime card event’, Fury was seen causing havoc at the press conferences. Only recently, he went up against Mike Tyson during the Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou press conference.

Amidst this, the retired boxer found himself in the center of flak and further scrutiny, but Eddie Hearn is all praise for him and did not shy away from making it evident. So let’s wait no further and dive right in at his comments.

John Fury impresses Eddie Hearn

In the past, Hearn has been critical of the Furys. Meanwhile, the Furys have expressed their disdain towards the CEO of Matchroom Boxing. However, in a recent turn of events, Hearn revealed that Fury has owned him over. Amongst other things, Hearn finds the father entertaining and thinks he should be given a share of the pie with how he markets fights.

In an interview with @Proboxingfans, he stated, “I think John Fury is really funny. I think we have established John Fury is on a wind-up. Do you know what I mean? Cause at first I thought he’d just take his shirt off and just start on everyone. But look at the value that John Fury added to the MISFITS card and to Saudi Arabia. I hope he is getting paid a nice few quid. He is the source of the entertainment. I know he is not everyone’s cup of tea, but think he is good for boxing.”

It is safe to say that Hearn is fond of Big John. Father Fury is unapologetically himself and funny. However, that’s not always the case with him. He can be scary when he wants to. Let’s take a look at the time when Hearn himself was scared of him.

Hearn was scared of John Fury

Back in 2020, Hearn had no quarrels with Tyson Fury. He was fond of him. But his father? Hearn was afraid of him and made it evident. In an interview, he stated, “I like Tyson Fury. I mean, I am quite scared of his dad. Yeah, so I am looking forward to it.”
