Can Mike Tyson defeat Jake Paul even at the age of 58? The showdown between youth and experience has thrown the world into a vat of speculations. However, Gilbert Arenas, the former Grizzlies star, seems to have figured it all out! According to Arenas, things aren’t looking good for the Cleveland-born influencer boxer.

Paul and Tyson will meet in the ring on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home to Dallas Cowboys headlining Netflix’s entry into boxing broadcast. So, during his appearance in an interview with Vlad TV, shared on YouTube today, the reporter probed ‘Agent Zero’ about his prediction for the upcoming fight.

Instead of sharing his prediction for the fight, the San Fernando Valley native voiced his grave concerns about Paul. “I hope there are some stipulations [in their contract]… I’m hoping that there [are] rules that protect Jake Paul,” said ‘Hibachi.’ One may wonder: Why does Arenas feel that way, especially since Paul is the one with the age advantage?

The three-time NBA All-Star graciously revealed, “Yeah, he’s 57, but is he really 57? Is [Tyson’s] punching power 57, no right? One, he probably hits three times harder than Jake Paul can possibly ever hit.” So, he muses, “I hope Jake Paul is on some type of st*roid.” However, that’s not all Arenas is hoping for!

Gibby then added, “I hope [he doesn’t] punch back Tyson [because] that s**t ain’t going to work.” Instead, Arenas is hoping by using the performance-enhancing drug, Paul will be able to absorb Tyson’s ferocious punches. Elaborating further, Arenas compared Tyson’s punching power to justify his statement. He said, “You’re talking about a dude who probably hit like [a] Mack Truck then, still hitting like [an] F-150 today.”

So, it’s safe to say that Gilbert Arenas is backing Mike Tyson to win the fight. However, the same can’t be said about this former unified heavyweight champion.

Having beaten Tyson’s pupil, heavyweight backs Jake Paul

Despite what Arenas thinks about the fight on July 20, many fans and pundits have expressed concerns about Tyson’s age going into the fight. So did Anthony Joshua in a recent episode of The Jonathan Ross Show. Speaking about the fight, Joshua didn’t think Tyson will be able to come out victorious despite his extensive experience. But why?

“[Tyson] is older now. I pray that he comes out healthy. I think Jake Paul [wins] because of youth, that’s the only thing,” said Joshua. Elaborating his thoughts on the whole influencer boxing thing, Joshua seemed to be fine with it. He said, “I think the boxing hard cores, they don’t like it… But I think that [influencer] brings all these people into boxing, which benefits everyone else. Everyone viewing helps.”

That being said, the world truly seems divided on the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight. While people like Gilbert Arenas are worried about Paul, people like Anthony Joshua think the opposite. So, only time can tell who will get the worst end of the fight. Who do you think will win?
