Britain’s lightweight boxing prospect, Luke Campbell, will enter the boxing ring after a long layoff of 16 months. The ‘Cool Hand’ will battle the biggest young gun of boxing, Ryan Garcia, in the lightweight division. Post his weigh-in for this fight, Campbell interacted with ES News. He talked about his excitement for this 12-round bout and even commented on Vasyl Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez‘s lightweight fight.
Lopez and Lomachenko fought back in October 2020, wherein Lomachenko ended up on the losing vertical.

‘Cool Hand’ admitted to Lopez being the superior fighter in that fight against the Ukrainian Lomachenko. He felt ‘Hi-Tech’ looked abruptly different in this fight.

Campbell said, “Firstly, I felt Lopez did fantastic, and congratulations (to him). Secondly, I thought, I feel it’s quite strange watching (how) Lomachenko was in there. He looked too different to watch. He’s been in the past… I just felt very strange, he (did) not throw a punch for 7 rounds. So like I said, Congratulations to Lopez.”
The pair fought for the WBO, WBA, and IBF lightweight titles. ‘The Takeover’ won this contest with 116,119, and 117 on the judges’ scorecard. Furthermore, he even won The Ring fighter of the year award.

Does Vasyl Lomachenko deserve a rematch against Teofimo Lopez?
Lomachenko suffered a fair and square beating in this fight. Many boxing stars and fans believed the fight was a one-sided affair for the first 8-9 rounds. However, it picked up pace in later rounds.
‘Hi-Tech’ has expressed his urge for this rematch quite a few times. He wants to settle his scores with rival Lopez.

Since that win, neither Teofimo Lopez nor Vasyl Lomachenko has been booked in a fight. Hence, an immediate rematch is definitely on the cards.
