“I Just Went Back and Rewatched It”: Shakur Stevenson Reveals His Changed Opinion About Devin Haney vs Vasyl Lomachenko

Devin Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko locked horns with each other in what proved to be a controversial win for the reigning undisputed champion. Haney was able to retain his title as he won via unanimous decision. This fight caused a stir in the boxing world and sparked a debate about Haney’s win against the Ukranian. This result of the fight has split the boxing world, including fans and many personalities taking their stands. As the fight ended, former two-division world champion Shakur Stevenson was one of the first personalities to support Lomachenko. Stevenson rushed into the ring as the winner was announced and claimed that the fight was a robbery for the Ukranian.

But, it seems like the former champ has changed his decision about the fight after having watched it again. Many fans and boxers alike have come forward to show their support for the 35-year-old, since the controversial ruling.

In an interview with Stamina for Sale, Stevenson revealed he rewatched the fight between Devin Haney and ‘The Matrix.’ And, he claimed that he has some second thoughts about the fight. He also said that he has changed his take on the scoring from what it was before.

Stevenson said, “I just went back and rewatched it, and I came up with a different score than I had the last time Honestly, I feel like it was either a draw or 7-5 Lomachenko. But I had 8-4 Lomachenko at the fight.” When the fight ended, Stevenson claimed the score to be 8-4 in favor of the Ukrainian.

Now, Stevenson has scored the fight to be either a draw or 7-5 still in favor of Lomachenko. Stevenson still seems to be supportive of the Ukrainian. The 25-year-old also clarified that at the time of the fight, one doesn’t see all the shots and what shots came at what time.

The interviewer then asks Stevenson if he is ready for the fight against Haney and if he needs another fight to gain some experience and momentum before fighting the lightweight kingpin. But, Stevenson responded and claimed that he is ready for the Haney fight and doesn’t need any more fights.
