Anthony Joshua might have avenged his defeat against Andy Ruiz Jr in their classic re-match. However, the primary upset is still garnering criticism towards him. That said, Frank Warren has recently hailed Ruiz Jr. for exposing Joshua’s weakness.

The entire boxing community was silenced when ‘The Destroyer’ chastised Joshua to snatch his World titles on June 1, 2019. It was one of the biggest upsets in the history of heavyweight boxing.

While noting the defeat, Joshua’s upcoming rivals can draft their plans based on Ruiz’s performance. At least, that’s what  Frank Warren believes.

Frank Warren knows what Anthony Joshua is capable of, but…

Speaking on SecondsOut, the Queensberry promoter reflected his opinion on the current heavyweight scenario.

Warren is seemingly not a believer of the odds, especially during a battle between Fury and Joshua, as he believes anything can happen in the sport. Just like it happened in Joshua vs Ruiz.

“I know what AJ is capable of but I know what his weaknesses are and they were seriously exposed in the states, they were exposed by Ruiz. He (Ruiz) exposed him (AJ).  So we know what they are, anything can happen,” said Warren.

However, in the re-match, Joshua has proven to be a better man as he outclassed Ruiz throughout to reclaim his titles. While he was always billed to be a knockout artist, Joshua notched his first win of pro-career via decision.

Joshua danced the distance with the Mexican and notched a comfortable win. That said, Ruiz Jr. is the only person to have vanquished him inside the ring, paving hope for several front runners.

AJ and his future looks bright with Fury

The Brit World champion will engage in action with Kubrat Pulev to defend his titles shortly. If not for the COVID-19, they would have fought already.

However, the COVID-19 halt has had brought several twists in the tale. While Fury and Wilder are contracted for one last battle, it was rumored that Wilder might step out of the clause.

That immediately brought Joshua into the mix. However, with time, the matchup got postponed for future.

If Joshua and Fury successfully defeat Pulev and Wilder in their upcoming takes, the British Heavyweight showdown will be their favorite call.
