Anthony Joshua is just a few days away from making his very first boxing appearance in 2021. This time, he’ll battle Oleksandr Usyk, and he will look to retain his WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight straps. This fight is highly important for the Brit as the possibility, regarding his fighting for the undisputed throne, relies heavily on this contest.

Joshua is already considered as a favorite for this battle as fans feel his heavyweight frame would help him counter Usyk, who is a former cruiserweight champ.
However, ‘AJ’ isn’t really bothered about the weight class as he’s completely hooked in for this fight.

Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports Boxing recently, he said, ”All boxers can move up weight. Some fighters say, ‘Oh I kind of feel better at the bigger weight or I carry more power or I feel fresher’ I mean he’s not having to make weight. I’ve kind of in my mind removed the way.

“The conversation about this is the heavyweight, and he’s a cruiserweight. I get that, but I like to challenge myself. Let’s remove that out of the way. And let’s look at where I’m at skill-wise, technical-wise. because I’ve got what I already have, anyway.”

Usyk, who isn’t a prime heavyweight, will be facing the biggest heavyweight of this era in Anthony Joshua. And he is ready to go toe to toe against the British boxing star and the latter, too, is eager to make a statement.
