Besides being a world champion, Amanda Serrano is also a great friend to Heather Hardy. The same friendship is reflected in Serrano’s heartfelt response to Hardy’s message of gratitude on social media today. Hardy took on the ‘Real Deal’ Serrano back in September 2019, giving her a shot at her WBO featherweight title. The now-unified featherweight champion went on to win the fight and later returned the favor.

In August 2023, Serrano gave Hardy what she had been looking for the longest time – a big money fight! The Puerto Rico resident won their rematch, too, but helped out Hardy in a big way. While it can’t be confirmed that their conversation on X today was about the same, it did showcase the depth of their friendship.

Amanda Serrano claims she could not forget Hardy

Responding to a tweet from Hardy, the former undisputed queen suggested Hardy doesn’t need to thank her, claiming Hardy was a great friend and the hardest individual she knew. “No need to mention it, hun. You are a great person & the hardest worker I know,” wrote Serrano. ‘The Real Deal’ later revealed that she couldn’t have forgotten Hardy.

“There’s no way I was going to make it and forget the ones that deserve it,” wrote Serrano. With gratitude shining through her words, Serrano concluded, “You know, Anything you need, I’m a holla away. I’ll Always be there for you & Annie.” Notably, Annie is Hardy’s daughter, who was born in 2005. However, it begs the question – what did Hardy write that prompted the sweet response from Serrano?

Heather Hardy thanks Serrano for helping an old lady

Merely an hour before Serrano responded to Hardy, the Brooklyn-born boxer expressed her gratitude on the platform, claiming she rarely uses X. However, today, she had to so that she could publicly highlight the great things Serrano had done for her. “The world should know that your character outweighs all your titles,” wrote Hardy.

She went on to write, “You helped an old lady/mom out so many times, [I] wanna publicly show how grateful I am for your loyalty & friendship.” Serrano is about to enter the ring on March 2 against Nina Meinke in her second fight featuring 12×3 minute rounds. So, the touching conversation on X with Hardy should motivate her and uplift her mood to prepare for the impending clash.

With just over a month left in her fight in Puerto Rico, Serrano receives a message full of gratitude and her response – even sweeter. The pair may not enter the ring together again, but their friendship will keep on blossoming, as evident from the tweets. What do you think about their friendship?
