Lil Nas X strikes again, and Ryan Garcia isn’t happy about it. Not so long ago, the Grammy-winning singer shared the title and cover for his upcoming single, ‘J Chris.’ It would be an understatement to say that people did not like it because of the backlash it received online. Wondering what’s on the cover that got people so outraged?

Well, the cover depicted Nas attached to a cross while people hoisted it up using ropes. Nevertheless, Garcia isn’t quite sure if he should criticize Nas publicly, as he proceeded to delete his remarks from Twitter just hours later. So, the only question left unanswered is what did the rising boxing star say about Nas?

Initially, Drama Alert shared a picture of Lil Nas X dressed as Jesus Christ on Twitter, with a caption that read, “Lil Nas X continuing to disrespect Christianity.” Responding to that tweet, Garcia wrote, “Christian family, where are you? As someone who loves God and is a Christian, I find this one of the most disrespectful and disturbing things someone can do. Even if you aren’t Christian, this isn’t okay. I wouldn’t disrespect someone’s belief, and I’m hurt and furious at the same…”

However, this wasn’t the end of Garcia’s discontent regarding the whole situation, so he penned another tweet. “Pray for Lil Nas X. Although it may enrage Christians what he is doing. We are called to pray for our adversaries. So lift him up in the prayer so he can see what he is actually doing. Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Love one another.” While Garcia made his stance about Nas’ new single clear, it’s vital to look at what Nas had to say about the backlash.

He also claimed his intentions weren’t to make a mockery out of anyone’s religious beliefs or Jesus himself. “I’m not making fun of s**t. yall just gotta stop trying to gatekeep a religion that was here before any of us were even born. Stfu,” wrote Nas. It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t the first time Nas has found himself on the wrong end of public opinion because of his songs.
