“I Never Was Hurt” – Devin Haney Reacts to Being Hit in Round 10 by Jorge Linares

Devin Haney retained his WBC lightweight belt and unbeaten record against Jorge Linares. But it was never an undemanding task for ‘The Dream’ as Linares had him troubled for a brief period.

In their 12-round collision, both men had their moments. Linares had a major one as he wobbled Devin Haney. After being dominated throughout round 10, Linares returned the favor with action. In the dying moments, he landed brutal shots on Haney.

As Haney absorbed all the punches, the damage was quite evident. However, the WBC champion didn’t agree with that. In the post-fight segment, he revealed that he was unhurt in round 10.

Devin Haney said, “It was a good shot, I was never hurt … I am going in there, I’ma box smart. He hit me with a good shot, but I never was hurt. But I still continued to box smart.”

He continued, “Sometimes when you get hit with a good shot, I wasn’t hurt, but you still gotta be smart in there and that was a game plan.”
