Among all the young boxing guns, Gervonta Davis ranks at the peak and is one true fan-favorite fighter. The super-aggressive technician has the ability to allure millions of boxing fans with his daunting approach. Furthermore, something that’s even more impressive about the young force is the active stint he possesses around different weight classes.

Earlier this year, Davis fought for the WBA ‘regular’ super lightweight title. And on December 5, he’ll again take up the ring space for a lightweight bout against Isaac Cruz. Many expected Davis to get his hands on the undisputed super lightweight champ, Josh Taylor, after his ‘regular’ title win. Instead, ‘Tank’ had different plans.

However, this does not mean Davis is rubbing off a fight with ‘The Tartan Tornado‘. Speaking to Fight Hub TV recently, the undefeated star gave an honest take on Josh Taylor.

He said, ”If we got somebody at 35 (135), or somebody at 30 (130) or 40 (140), then I see you know a lot of people at 140, well the main Josh. I have seen him at the fight the other day. I should have just walked up to him, but anybody wanted to do that, mess up the fights and stuff like that”

For now, as Davis and Taylor are the best super-lightweights in the entire roster, a fight between these two is extremely vital for the division.

However, both of them have fights in the pipeline already. Citing that, it seems a contest between these two won’t happen so soon.

On top of that, Davis just seems the ideal opponent for Taylor because he already has a hang of fighting in the 140-pounds division.

Moreover, as both ‘Tank’ and Taylor have exchanged some words with each other, this rivalry needs to get settled inside the squared circle. Do you see this fight happening?
