Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone has a story, nothing short of a fairy tale. The ‘Rocky’ actor was dirt poor before his script got accepted and the movie turned out to be one of the highest-grossing franchises of all time.

However, while many think that Stallone’s luck played a part in his success it was actually his unwavering determination during hard times that kept him going even when times were tough. In addition, he even detailed how he even failed to make ends meet before the success of Rocky.

Sylvester Stallone reveals his condition before Rocky’s success

In a video Sly, claimed that he had just over $100 in his bank account. He even had to sell his dog and car so that he could sustain himself. Moreover, he added that despite not having any previous film knowledge he still worked towards his ambitions with an unstoppable will to succeed.

“I had like $106 dollars in the bank. Like I said I had to sell my dog and things were not looking very, very good. My $40 car had just blown up, so I was taking a bus to work. No film history, no real film knowledge. I was just working from, I guess instinct.” He said

He further detailed how he watched sports movies and stated he wanted something different out of them. According to him, if one could stand after getting beaten down, he could overcome any challenge the world had to offer.

Stallone details how he never gave up on life no matter the circumstances

Later in the video ‘Sly’ stated that a person who is resilient will overcome any obstacles in front of him. He added that he was never humble despite being pushed back in life which made him the success he is today. According to him, staying with the right people who have similar goals helped him find a way to succeed in life.

“At the very end of our lives, if we can still say you know. We were never humbled. We were knocked down, but we got up and I can say I lived life with integrity I took all the blows I still prevailed. To really succeed no man really is an island. When you find the right components in your life, the right people that gel with you, then you feel as though you’re invincible.”  he added.

Stallone had a will unmatched by any other before him. This was the reason why he was able to achieve such heights despite not having any tools to succeed. Moreover, he tries to convey this to his audiences, which certainly makes him an icon.
