Recently, a young Dominican Republic boxer, Elvis Rodriguez, was in an interview with Fight Hype. He shared his notions on the much-awaited exhibition bout and how it’ll impact the sport.

“Boxing’s a show, you know, it doesn’t know if it’s good or bad, for boxing it’s a show, it is what it is.”

I think it’s awful, but you know that’s just my opinion,” he said.

Rodriguez is a super lightweight fighter who holds a professional record of 10 wins and 0 losses. The southpaw lashed out at the Mayweather vs Paul exhibition bout, citing it as ‘awful’. Because he felt there are many more hardworking fighters who begin their journey from nowhere and make it to the top without getting such big money fights.

The 25-year-old referred to this fight as just a show for fans in the glossy world of social media, which does not contribute to any learning to the forthcoming generation of fighters.
