George Kambosos Jr is a former unified lightweight champion. Therefore, he won’t stand for any nonsense from a young boxer who hasn’t even won a world title yet. The ugly spat started in April when rising Super lightweight talent Richardson Hitchins was bold enough to call Kambosos a ‘”lick” for losing to former undisputed champion Devin Haney.

In no mood to let the insult slide, the Australian boxer took a dig at the low caliber of opponents the 26-year-old has faced in his career so far and also mocked his fight purses which paled in comparison to what Ferocious receives for his fights. “Don’t talk about the 8 figure fighter with all the straps in his big a*s house selling out stadiums & arenas, while your tweeting from your room in mummy and daddy’s house. God bless, broke bum.” Kambosos wrote on X.

Since then, the two boxers have been at loggerheads, going back and forth on X. Lately, a cheeky callout for a fight from Hitchins was turned down brutally by Kambosos Jr again. The Brooklyn-born boxer took to X and extended his fight invitation to Kambosos — “I’m looking for an opponent to work on a few new things on are you available in nov?” In his immediate response, Kambosos flat-out refused Hitchins’ offer and told him that he would be better off jumping to 140 and fighting world champions in that division in front of sold-out stadiums rather than fighting an individual who commands “25k purses” and ” 300 attendance in a school hall”.

“Na stick to your 25k purses & your 300 attendance in a school hall, you ain’t shit, I come straight up to 140 & get a shot. might do another stadium fight, come hold my bucket, try some new things on that or Lemnos,” Kambosos Jr retorted on X.

Furthermore, Kambosos Jr. stated, “Aye I thought you where dead after I bodied you last week.” But what is the Australian boxer referring to?

The ultimate flex!

Almost a week ago, George Kambosos Jr. shared a picture of him on X standing alongside his luxury car in the garage, and captioned it, “Win, lose or draw!! I put in work everyday. I love the grind, hard work everyday, 8 figures deep and I still I do this shit because I want too, not to stay in the game, f**k the fame, im still staying the same, like Dre said.” Richardson Hitchins quickly commented on the post, saying, “F**king bum.”

Always up for trash-talking, ‘Ferocious’ called Hitchins a “broke attention seeking fool”, who hasn’t won a world championship belt yet. In contrast, Kambosos Jr listed out his achievements, stating, “In 2 years Lopez, Haney x 2, Loma, every belt, millions and millions and record breaking crowds. Enjoy your 500 seat fights. YA UGLY BUM.”

Richardson Hitchins has yet to challenge for a world title and has not faced any major names in the super-lightweight division. However, the fighter remains undefeated, with his most recent victory coming in an IBF super-lightweight title eliminator against Gustavo Daniel Lemos, where he secured a unanimous decision win.

On the other hand, Kambosos Jr. is a decorated boxer, winning various titles in the lightweight division. He has been involved in many big-money high-profile fights against Devin Haney, Vasyl Lomachenko, and Teofimo Lopez. Kambosos Jr only recently lost his IBF title to Vasyl Lomachenko. From the looks of it, Hitchins will not stand down despite the brutal takedown from the 31-year-old Australian. What comes next remains to be seen.
