One thing that has troubled mankind in recent times, is the Covid-19 pandemic which lasted from 2019 to 2022. The pandemic was a great leveler for the rich as well as the poor. A recent video of renowned professional boxer and fighter, Anthony Yarde, went viral where he told that he suffered a huge loss in his family during that tumultuous period.

Recently on a podcast video of the trusted boxing media channel, iFL TV, Anthony Yarde revealed that he lost more than 5 family members during that time, which also included his father. In the video, he also revealed that he committed a mistake during that time, the consequences of which he is suffering suffer till now. But what was the mistake he made during that time? Anthony Dwayne Duncan Yarde, more commonly known as Anthony Yarde, is an American professional boxer born on 13th August 1991. However his entry into boxing happened late. But even then, he has made a massive footprint in the world of boxing.

It was 2020, and the whole world was at a standstill, and the only noises that could be heard outside was the siren of ambulances, and paramedics-Covid-19 had taken the world by storm. Yarde’s family was also affected by COVID-19. He lost one of his family members because of  COVID-19. But the grief was not over yet, as another member also passed away within a short passage of time.  In the same way, he lost three more family members which also includes his father. However, on the video, he shared that he had made a mistake.

Anthony Yarde made a huge mistake posting about his family’s loss on social media

He said in the interview, “And then I had this armor on, I told the world, which was a mistake. I put it on my Instagram, and it was a mistake.”

He mentioned that putting everything on social media was his biggest mistake which he still regrets. He stated that after putting the news out on social mediia, everybody wants to still ask him about his deceased family members – a conversation he is not ready to have now.

On asking why it was a mistake, Yarde said, “Because at that time I didn’t realize that’s going to follow. Everyone’s going to talk about it. I want to when I’m ready now to okay. I don’t want to talk about it no more. I want to  try and get on my life. Everyone’s asking me about this happened for a couple of years. Even now we went through this talking about as well but we know you went through this in this time.”

However, the grief  did not stop him from progressing in his career. Just 6 months after his loss, he returned to the ring and put up an impressive performance against Sergey Kovalev, even though he lost. Meanwhile, he is eyeing his next fight with Artur Beterbiev.

The fans are looking to see more amazing performances from the boxer in upcoming years.
