Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis, now Abdul Wahid having converted to Islam, recently excited the boxing fans as they argued over a sparring match they had in the past. While Davis claimed he almost defeated Haney, ‘The Dream’ strongly declared he had put ‘Tank’ in a fix. Additionally, to settle the score, Devin openly challenged ‘Tank’ to accept a fight.

At this, while ‘Tank’ has yet to officially accept Haney’s offer, Floyd Mayweather‘s former protege and Welterweight boxer Maurice Lee offered new insights into the sparring match between ‘Tank’ and ‘The Dream’. In doing so, he reasoned why Haney would potentially beat Davis.

After Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney bantered over a dog-house sparring match, MillCity Boxing recently interviewed former Welterweight boxer Maurice Lee. During the interview, Lee commended Devin Haney’s boxing skills. Additionally, on being asked if Haney vs. Davis would come to fruition, Maurice declared that Devin is genuinely interested in facing Davis. “I think Devin’s trying to make that happen,” said Lee.

It seems like ‘Tank’ doesn’t want to make the fight. I don’t know why ‘Tank’ ain’t hoped on the fight,” he added. Meanwhile, Maurice claimed he saw Haney spar with Davis in Mayweather’s gym. Given Haney’s performance against ‘Tank’ in the sparring match, Lee believes Haney would beat Davis.  “I was there for their sparring. So, the sparring I had seen at the Mayweather gym, I would say Devin’s got the best of him. Devin is a really smart boxer skill-wise. So, I think he can outbox ‘Tank’,” said Maurice.

If I had to drop a bag on one, just because of how he was adjusting and handling, I would pick Dev. He can come on top of all those guys,” he concluded. Anyway, although Maurice suspected Davis was trying to avoid Haney, the duo will likely share the ring in Saudi Arabia by the end of this year.
