In a post-fight interview, ‘Iron Man’ gave his take on this bout and he lauded his contemporary’s performance. He said, “The draw was, you know, wouldn’t what I wanted to hear. If anything, I won this fight. I hurt him way more than he did. And Brian Castano is a top warrior. He gave a lot of people problems but, like I said, my power’s some serious at this weight division.”

The fight didn’t begin on a sublime note for Charlo, but in the second round, he tried to turn the tide in his favor. However, the underdog, Castano, who was in his own flow, landed some thunderous hits on ‘Iron Man’.

At one point in the fight, it seemed as if the Argentinian boxer would knock Charlo out. But the latter kept control and held his nerves to counter-attack Castano with his fiery jabs and solid right hands. He had his fair share of moments inside the ring and round 10 saw Charlo going all out against his rival.

Did Jermell Charlo really win this fight?

Charlo did give his best in this encounter, but he just didn’t seem on Castano’s level. Even the boxing stats firm, CompuBox, revealed that Castano outlanded Charlo.

Despite that, the ‘Iron Man’, with his jabs, convinced the judges that ‘El Boxi’ was not the better boxer on the night. Given the magnitude of the bout and the result, it’ll be interesting to see whether this pair gets to fight each other in a rematch soon.
