However, the bout got postponed to a new date on June 19. Then, as Lopez tested positive for Covid-19, the fight was pushed to August 14.

Recently, Dan Rafael took it to his Twitter handle to detail the recent progress and judgments made by IBF.

He wrote, Breaking: IBF has ruled on #LopezKambosos. It will not default Triller’s purse bid. Fight mus take place by Oct. 17. Must take place “in a location and venue that does not require quarantine.” Signed contracts my be submitted to IBF within 15 days. (more)”

Rafael added that if Triller cannot submit the signed contracts by August 24, the bid rights will directly go to the second bidder, Matchroom boxing, which will have 90 days to stage this fight.

Moreover, if ‘The Takeover’ doesn’t agree to fight, then he will have to relinquish the IBF belt. Whereas, if Kambosos Jr. doesn’t comply with the order, then Lopez will get a chance to find another challenger for his title. Considering the latest developments, the Lopez vs Kambosos Jr. bout will proceed quickly.
