Dillian Whyte and Deontay Wilder have had a long-standing rivalry between them. The two heavyweights have engaged in many verbal battles over the last three years. And now, the two could potentially settle their differences in the ring.

Whyte is coming off an impressive victory over Alexander Povetkin. The knockout win over the Russian put Whyte back on track for a world title. However, with no option to fight a world champion this year, Whyte has shown his desperation for a fight against ‘The Bronze Bomber.’

The 28-2 boxer spoke to SkySports Boxing and claimed he was open to fighting Wilder in the US as it would be a monumental event. Whyte pointed out that the demand is already there, and thus, they could stage a massive event in the summer.

‘The Body Snatcher’ then added, “I’ll fight Wilder in Alabama, if that’s what is going to make him feel secure and safe enough to take the fight. If he wants, he can have the home judges, his hometown, whatever.”

“I don’t care. I’d even fight him in his own home, the kitchen, the garage, the garden, wherever. I just want to get hold of him and hurt him.”

‘The Bronze Bomber’ has not fought since his defeat to Tyson Fury in February 2020. Rumors suggested he would fight Charles Martin as his return bout. However, those rumors have now died down, and there is no talk of his next fight.

The former WBC champion previously hinted that he wants a big-name opponent for his return to prove his worth. And Whyte fits the bill perfectly. Moreover, a victory over ‘The Body Snatcher’ would make Wilder the Interim champion and mandatory for the WBC belt.

Therefore, the bout makes sense for all involved. However, the biggest question will be whether Wilder would box such a dominant figure after an 18-month in-ring hiatus.
