Last weekend, the Tribute to the Kings boxing event entertained a vast audience with exemplary boxing performances. In this event, three boxing stalwarts from the Chavez family namely, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and Omar Chavez took part to lure the boxing fans. Chavez Sr. fought in an exhibition bout, whereas his sons fought professional bouts. And to everyone’s surprise, the Mexican boxing legend’s sons ended up losing their contests.

Citing their performances, Chavez Sr. took a wild dig at both Chavez Jr. and Omar Chavez. He said, “I’d rather they retire the hell out of it. If they’re not going to prepare properly, what’s the use?”

‘JC Jr.’ fought the UFC legend Anderson Silva in an 8 round boxing affair. And the 46-year-old surprisingly went all out against the boxing veteran. He employed his finest standup game in this fight to eventually score a split decision win. The judges scored 75-77, 77-75, and 77-75 in favor of ‘The Spider’.

The entire boxing fraternity stood up on its feet to laud Silva for his performance. Despite passing his prime, Silva staggered Chavez Jr. with his slick game plan.

On the other hand, Omar Chavez locked horns with Ramon Alvarez. In this contest, the latter annihilated another member of the Chavez family. He claimed a unanimous decision win and put a massive dent on Omar Chavez’s resume.

That said, both his sons’ performances left Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. unimpressed.
