Former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, was one of the most intimidating individuals on the planet during his prime. However, the champ has transitioned to become a calm and mellow version of his former self. And it can be said that the death of his daughter, Exodus Tyson, had a major hand in the same. In fact, he once opened up about how his daughter’s death changed him as a person.

Tyson was in a conversation with Donald McRae of The Guardian in 2014. In conversation, he spoke about his journey from a scared young boy to ‘The Baddest Man on The Planet’. Tyson mentioned how his life and troubles spiraled out of control.

‘Iron’ Mike further revealed that he surrendered himself to a higher power when he thought he had lost all hope. He said, “I surrendered to a higher power. I said: ‘Help me. I can’t do nothing no more. Guide me. God, whoever. I don’t know what to do.”

There is no denying that Exodus Tyson’s death played a major role in him losing his foothold. A teary-eyed Tyson spoke about finding it hard to get over the incident. He mentioned, “If I wasn’t married I’d be very different. I’d still be that violent schmuck because that’s all I once knew – how to hurt people. I used to do all that stuff and I never cared about the repercussions.”

Tyson also added that he became a changed man after surrendering himself.

Exodus Tyson was the daughter of Mike Tyson and his ex-girlfriend, Sol Xochitl. She also had a biological older brother, Miguel Tyson. The former champ had often spoken about his daughter, and it was evident that he absolutely adored her.

Things took a turn for the worst in 2009. The 4-year-old toddler was in her playroom and wrapped the cord of a treadmill and wrapped it around her neck. However, she accidentally suffocated herself while doing so. She was rushed to a hospital where she was placed on life support but ended up losing her life.
