The high-profile drama sparked after Canelo reacted blatantly to a video that showed the Argentine icon celebrating a 2-0 win over Mexico in the group stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup along with his teammates in the dressing room. While doing so, Messi stepped on the Mexican national team T-shirt. This hurt the undisputed super-middleweight champion’s sentiments, and he got offended.
