Evander Holyfield announced his return to boxing earlier this month. The reveal which sent the boxing world into a frenzy came a few days after Mike Tyson announced his own comeback. He says, “If I ask him it’s almost like me being a bully saying I want to go against somebody I’ve beaten twice.

‘The Real Deal’ continued, “I don’t want pressure on me that ‘you just want to fight Mike because you know you can beat him’. If he hits me I’m gonna hit you back, that’s what boxing is really about. I’m gonna be 58, he’ll be 54. You talk about being in good health and doing things the proper way that respects it.”

He added that it would be the same for every opponent who steps into the squared circle with him.

“Anybody that I get in the ring with, if I’m in there with my brother. If he tag me I’m gonna tag him back. If you don’t want me to throw bombs you’d better not throw no bombs.”

Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have a massive backstory. The duo has boxed twice. First in 1996, ‘Iron’ suffered a TKO loss in the penultimate round. However, their next fight will always be mentioned as part of boxing’s most controversial moments.

On June 28, 1997, ‘the baddest man on the planet’ shockingly bit his opponent’s ears on two occasions. The first resulted in a stoppage. However, in the second instance the fight ended. ‘Iron’ maintains he did it due to repeated headbutts.

The duo has made up since the scandalous incident. However, they are yet to face each other in a match. Fans will surely take an exhibition to satiate their desire to see the duo slug it out once more.

Will Evander Holyfield vs Mike Tyson 3 become reality?
