Big money can be life-changing! Unfortunately, that’s exactly what resulted in Evander Holyfield’s downfall. Following his success in the sport, making over half a billion dollars during his career, Holyfield built a massive mansion. However, it did not last him very long, as he went bankrupt due to his sister’s actions. 

Holyfield had revealed in an interview with VladTV that his sister took out a second mortgage on his $230 million mansion. It is the largest private residence in all of Georgia, featuring the largest private pool in America. What’s worse is the fact that Holyfield did not know about the multi-million dollar loan, and by the time he knew, it was too late. So, while appearing in a recent interview with VladTV, Michael Jai White discussed this incident that Holyfield went through.

Michael Jai White backs Holyfield’s actions

Interestingly, despite losing his mansion because of his sister’s fraudulent actions, Holyfield never pressed charges against her, claiming it would have upset his mother and would cause drama in the family. So, White suggested what Holyfield did should be looked up to. “I think the lot of that is…those are words to live by,” he said.

He went on to claim that he loved the way Holyfield was able to move on by putting things aside. “The way you will put things…like let it move and just move on with it. I love that, I love that.” 

Speaking further about the situation, White highlighted the quote written on his shirt. “Hey, I think I’m wearing a shirt that explains that ‘if it costs you your piece, it’s too expensive,’” said White. With that out of the way, not a lot of people know White has a coincidental connection to Holyfield.

White’s unexpected connection to Evander Holyfield

While appearing in the interview with Vlad TV, White recollected watching the series of interviews with Holyfield and realized they have something or someone in common. The martial arts actor-director revealed that while he and his wife were away making a movie, Holyfield’s ex-assistant helped take care of his children.

“We have a connection with that because his assistant is, you know, who was while I was directing the movie; yeah, his ex-assistant is the person that’s watching my children; yeah, while my wife and I were gone doing this movie,” said White. The incident highlighted how small the world really is and how everyone’s life is intertwined in one way or the other.
