Looking at the ongoing turmoil in the heavyweight division, WBC champion Tyson Fury has postponed his return till 2021. After failing to bag the trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder, Fury has been reported to face Agit Kabayel on December 5th.
However, outer-ring complications have compelled ‘The Gypsy King’ to put a halt on those plans. If not Wilder, Anthony Joshua has always been Fury’s first preference.
However, with Wilder out of the tale and Joshua already slated to take on Kubrat Pulev, Tyson Fury has no A-listers on his radar.

While he could have returned against the unbeaten Kabayel, the fight doesn’t ensure much profit, if compared to Wilder and Joshua.
Considering the COVID-19 wreckage, gate sales are still a questionable source for promoters. Thus, Fury and his promoters might have chalked that out to push the comeback.
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum recently connected with iFL TV to shed light on it. According to him, Fury will tentatively return in February 2021 against Wilder or Joshua. That said, AJ’s fight against Pulev will offer Tyson Fury his next opponent.
Tyson Fury only wants the BIG SHOTS
Arum says that Fury’s predicted fight against Kabayel was to be telecasted on a Saturday afternoon, which might not be an ideal ‘time’. He also said that the profits might seem questionable with that matchup.
Talking about it, Arum said, “He realized we were gonna pay money from the United States for telecast to be shown on ESPN on a Saturday afternoon. Which is not an ideal time.”
He added, “Frank, he has no gate, and it’s just the pay-per-views and with all the PPVs in the UK. I mean, Frank could not come up with a sizeable guarantee.
“Again, you can’t pay a fighter when you don’t have the revenue coming in. So I think Tyson realized he wasn’t gonna get the money that he was used to getting so he decided not to get the fight.”

Meanwhile, he has also talked about the bigger plans against Wilder or Joshua, sending fight fans into a frenzy.
Arum said, “I have given everybody the word. Wait for the Pulev-Joshua fight. If Pulev wins, there’s no Joshua because Eddie has a rematch with Pulev.
“So that leaves Wilder as the best guy. So if Pulev beats Joshua, Fury will talk to Fury about doing the Wilder fight, probably in the end of February.”

If Joshua wants to unveil the biggest Brit showdown in the history of heavyweight boxing, Kubrat Pulev is the key. One successful title defense and he can bag the most lucrative fight of his career against fellow British WBC champion, Tyson Fury.
