Roy Jones Jr. is ready to step out for war when he locks horns against Mike Tyson in an eight-rounder exhibition battle on November 28. Despite ending a two-year hiatus, the 51-year-old considers his professional return as nothing less than a title fight. Although he will face Tyson in a charity exhibition, the intensity of the contest is similar to a blockbuster title fight.

That said, both former world champions are in great shape. They have been constantly alluring the fans with clips of their training on social media. It is no surprise that Tyson and Roy Jones still have a killer instinct in them, which intensifies the fight further.

Since ‘Iron’ Mike is the bigger guy in the fight, fans expect him to be the aggressive one come November. However, ‘Captain Hook’ has some advice for his opponent before they fight.

Roy Jones Jr. can switch the game if he gets back up against Mike Tyson

Prior to the headliner, Roy Jones Jr connected with Fight Hub TV to picture an outlook of the fight. As per ‘Captain Hook’, if Tyson drops him down, he has to make sure it’s worth it. Furthermore, he claimed that he would switch the game if he got back to his feet.

He said, “You lay a good one on me, you better take me out cause if you don’t take me out, church over.

Tyson is one of the most lethal punchers to have ever graced the sport. Also, he is a natural heavyweight. Thus, it makes sense for fans to back him as the dominant fighter. However, Roy Jones Jr claimed that he would be ready for anything thrown at him.

He added, “If he does decide to only smoke bombs, I’m the smaller guy. If I am not in shape or not prepared to defend or take a title then how I am going to defend myself?  How am I going to get them off? I ain’t depending on the referee or the commissioner, nobody to get them off me. So it’s like I gotta get them off so I got to be in shape and be ready just in case because you never know, he is big.”

While Tyson hung his boxing gloves after a shocking stoppage against Kevin McBride in 2005, Roy Jones retired in 2018, while riding a four-fight win streak. Thus, we cannot rule him out in the upcoming fight. However, it is great to see that Roy Jones Jr. isn’t demeaning Tyson’s abilities.
