The story of boxing legend Mike Tyson is nothing short of a movie. From his humble and hard beginnings, Iron Mike rose to the top of the boxing world, cementing his legacy as one of the best boxers to ever step foot in the squared circle. However, even after reaching heights matched by a select few, he is still a product of the streets.

In a mind-opening conversation with Anthony Dirrell, the former heavyweight champion got candid and painted a brutally honest picture about himself. While training with the super-middleweight contender, Tyson stated that, although he was a hero among normal people, he was a ‘god’ to the people on the streets.

Maybe I’m a hero to the world but I’m a god to the gutter.” said Tyson. After hearing this, Dirrell seemed stunned at Tyson’s comparison, as he couldn’t fathom the depth of this statement. For people who are not privileged and are at the bottom of society, Tyson is a ‘god’ who represents hope that they too can change their lives, although they were handed a bad life.

Mike Tyson made over $30 million for biting Evander Holyfield

Tyson was responsible for one of the most infamous moments in boxing history. In 1997, during his second fight against Evander Holyfield, Iron Mike would go on and do the unthinkable and bite off a part of Holyfield’s ear. Following this, he had his boxing license suspended and was handed a $3 million fine. However, it looks like Tyson used this incident to change his fortunes around.

In a recent episode of the “Checc’n In Podcast with Big U” Iron Mike talked about his entry into the cannabis industry. He also added that he was now selling ear-shaped cannabis gummies as a play on the incident. Moreover, he also revealed that the sale of the gummies has earned him a cool $30 million. “I got fined 3 million for that and, I might have made 30 million since that happened. From that bite. You know how important that was for people!” said Tyson. It looks like Iron Mike has certainly made the most out of this incident even after 25 years apart.
