Ahead of the electrifying heavyweight blockbuster between Anthony Joshua and Kubrat Pulev on December 12, several fans are demeaning the champion’s fighting abilities.

It seems the dent put by Andy Ruiz Jr. is still fresh in people’s minds. However, the unified titleholder is confident about silencing the critics.

Anthony Joshua is a world-class elite who has been on a knockout ride all his life. Beginning his pro career in 2013, Joshua registered 21 consecutive KOs until his maiden loss to Ruiz Jr. Although he regained his titles in the rematch, ‘AJ’ is on a KO-draught for more than 2 years now.

While a fair share of analysts remains doubtful about his performance against Pulev, ‘AJ’ highlighted his history against elite performers. He claimed to have absorbed shots from the strongest people. So, it’s safe to believe, he can handle a few crackers from ‘The Cobra’.

In the recent press conference, AJ shed light on his career and made everyone reminisce about his greatness once again.

Joshua said, “I have been fighting at the top-level ever since I went into the gym. I had a three-year-amateur career and I wet from walking into the gym to competing at the European championships.”

He added, “Stand and jab box size, world championships, Olympic championships. I have been punched by the strongest people many times and I am still here today. So that never changed me. So because that’s a loss throwaway.”

Anthony Joshua is a man of character

The world champion believes he has a lot of character and bills it to be his unique feature. No wonder, he is one of the most respected boxers all over the world.

While excuses for defeats are common in the current heavyweight circuit, ‘AJ’ accepted his loss against Andy Ruiz Jr. with no justification and reclaimed the top spot in the re-match.

Speaking about himself, Joshua continued, “I don’t think that’s enough to change though. Like me. I’ve got a lot of character, every fighter trains hard, but it’s a character that separates us. And I feel like I’ve got a lot of character and I’ll be keen to stand there. I’m going to go into the fire. I’m definitely going to get hit. And he’s going to get hit as well.”
