There are several mouthwatering fights in the boxing world that never happened for both known and unknown reasons. But they still become a storyline whenever discussed because of their uncertain results. One of them was a highly anticipated bout between former five-weight division champ Floyd Mayweather and the former unified junior welterweight champion Amir Khan.

Back in 2013, both fighters, Mayweather and Khan, were showing off their skills in the junior welterweight division. This led to the rumors that both were in talks for a fight. Conflicting reports around the duo’s matchup created a buzz, but in reality, this dream clash never reached fruition.

On various occasions, Khan claimed that if a fight between him and ‘The Pretty Boy’ would have happened, then Mayweather’s record would have been different.

Recently, he insisted on his victory over prime Mayweather.

Michael Benson of talksports reported it on Twitter. He wrote, “Amir Khan asked who would have won if he fought Floyd Mayweather in their primes: “I’d beat him. Honestly, I’d beat Mayweather. I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this, but you have to believe in yourself… It would’ve been like chess, but I would’ve outboxed him.”

But it would not be right to say that Khan would’ve defeated him if they both had locked horns.
