“I’m Happy Canelo Speaks English”: Claressa Shields Shares an Intriguing Reaction to Canelo Alvarez Calling GGG An “A**hole”

The work of Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields speaks volumes about her. But even her Twitter account has some intriguing content that her fans really admire. The Michigan native posted something about another renowned boxer, and her tweet is winning hearts on the internet.

Unsurprisingly, the anticipated Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin is already making headlines. Amidst this, the Mexican star had some advice for his opponent at a recent press conference. He stated, “He(Golovkin) is two different people. He pretends to be a nice guy, he’s not. He is an as*ho*e, he is. He pretends to be a nice guy and, oh yes, I’m just looking for the fam happy, and then I know the place where he talk a lot of sh*t. It is what it is. Just be a man and say what you say.”

Shields expressed her delight on Twitter after hearing the Mexican speak English.

 

Apparently, Shields stated that she doesn’t know much of what Alvarez had to say, but she definitely loved that he can speak English.

Moreover, the boxer had a lot of respect for her childhood idol, tennis player Serena Williams. But Shields’ idea of meeting her idol didn’t line up with the picture that she had in her head.

While talking to ‘Detroit Free Press’, Shields said, “She [Serena Williams] was just not nice. For me to look up to her like I did when I was a kid and then meet her in person and see how she’s not fan-friendly.”

The boxer further added, “She was kind of mean to a lot of people at the Olympics and just kind of made me not want to be like her. Because I’m different.”

As per what Shields described, she didn’t like the way Williams treated her fans, and that made the boxer stop liking her childhood role model. Never meet your idols, right?
