WBC silver lightweight champion Ryan Garcia will fight for the interim title when he steps up against Luke ‘Cool Hand’ Campbell in their headlining contest on December 5. Although Garcia is the favorite in the matchup, a lot of boxers believe that Campbell will be his toughest opponent to date.

That said, ‘KingRy’ is ready to test himself against every adversary. Being the undefeated champion, he has a lot more to defend other than just his title. When Garcia enters the ring, he will also put his undefeated pro record on the line. However, the 22-year-old loves to surprise people and he has already shocked Matchroom CEO Eddie Hearn, by accepting the fight against Campbell.

Talking with the DAZN, Hearn has revealed that he never took the matchup seriously until it got an official call. The Matchroom CEO said, “When Ryan Garcia against Luke Campbell was made, I went there is no chance in the world that Ryan Garcia is gonna fight Luke Campbell.”

Meanwhile, Garcia had different plans in his mind, i.e. shocking the world. Not only did he accept the fight, but he also sent out a message to everyone who thought he wouldn’t. Turning to Twitter, the 22-year-old wrote, “I’m here for greatness, and to test my abilities against everyone!”

Thus, Ryan Garcia solely needs to focus on ‘Cool Hand’ at this point. Boasting a professional record of 20 wins and 3 losses, Campbell is a top lightweight of the modern era. No wonder Garcia cannot afford to take him lightly. Simultaneously, ‘KingRy’ is also no pushover and he can end Campbell at any given point.
