Recently, talking to Fighthype.com, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe, recalled his conversation with Floyd Mayweather. This conversation was of utmost importance as the former five-weight division champ praised the 30-0 pugilist from Philadelphia. He was so impressed by this 25-year-old IBF welterweight contender that he asked Ellerbe about him.
Ellerbe admitted, “I can recall–it was a little while ago–and I got a phone call. Floyd was like ‘Who the f**k is this Boots guy? That mother f**ker can fight his a** off.'”
Furthermore, he added, “Floyd called me–and I’m not going to say the timing for when it was–but he just watched the fight, and he was like, ‘Who the f**k is this guy, Boots Ennis?’ I said, ‘Floyd, I’ve been telling you about him.”
According to Ellerbe, if he signs with Mayweather Promotions, he will get what he wants.
What did Jaron Ennis say about Floyd Mayweather after getting praise?

Moreover, he is glad to know that Mayweather has praised him for his boxing skills, which means a lot. He said, “That was dope. Floyd is one of the greats. I appreciate the love. He’s been showing a lot of love lately. Past couple of years. It’s dope to have one of the greats talking about me, asking me who I am and stuff like that. Nothing but love. I appreciate it.”
Talking about the welterweight division, he believes that the highly anticipated bout between Spence Jr and Crawford will land. If for any reason this bout did not take place for that, Ennis said, “I’m here. I gotta eat, I’m coming.”
