On May 1st, Chris Arreola and Andy Ruiz Jr. will make their much-anticipated returns to the ring. Both of them will step inside the squared circle after almost two years away from the game. The pair are ecstatic to put their boxing run back on track and possibly fight for the heavyweight world title soon.

Ahead of this fight, Arreola interacted with FightHype, and shed some light on his upcoming fight with the ‘Destroyer’ and his headspace for the same.

“First of all, people that know me, that have watched me fight. I try not to be in a boring fight. I can’t do f**king leave it on the f**king ring, because this is what I do.”

“You know what, I’m the best Mexican right here, and it’s more of a battle of will, the battle of attrition,” said Arreola.

Arreola last fought in 2019 against Adam Kownacki, wherein he lost via a unanimous decision. Despite that, the ‘Nightmare’ took the setback on his chin and moved ahead. He will look to continue moving ahead and claim a win against a former heavyweight champion in Andy Ruiz Jr.

Arreola feels Ruiz Jr. will be highly motivated coming into this fight, but he’s assured his fans of giving his best shot on May 1.
