Naoya Inoue is the talk of the town. This year has been quite successful for the Japanese boxer. In July, he defeated Stephen Fulton to become the WBC and WBO super bantamweight champion. More recently, he became the undisputed super bantamweight champion by defeating Marlon Tapales via a knockout in the tenth round of their contest.
In a recent revelation, the grandson of Muhammad Ali, Nico Ali Walsh, witnessed the performance of the undefeated boxer and, impressed by his brilliance, decided that he’d dress up as Naoya Inoue for Halloween next year. Let’s find out more about it.

Naoya Inoue impresses the grandson of Muhammad Ali
Nico Walsh, apart from being the grandson of Muhammad Ali, is a boxer himself. After having nine professional bouts, he has an impressive record of only 1 defeat and eight victories, with five of them coming by the way of knockouts, giving him a 62% knockout ratio. After watching Inoue get his 26th victory, the young boxer was simply captivated. Reflecting on the same, retweeting Top Ranks’s post on X, Nico Ali, stated, “I’m dressing up as Naoya Inoue for Halloween next year.”

It is safe to say that Walsh is a big fan of Inoue for his boxing acumen and does not shy away from admitting it. Moreover, many boxing fans and pundits have been captivated by Inoue and consider him the pound-for-pound best. However, it bears mention that there is a section that finds him overrated and worthy of criticism.
A former champion has a few words about Inoue
According to Antonio Tarver, former light-heavyweight champion, Inoue is not worthy of being a pound-for-pound best fighter because his resume lacks wins against formidable fighters. In addition, he asserted that so long as Terence Crawford is undefeated, he cannot overtake him. On X, he stated, “he ain’t fought a top fighter and those lighter divisions with no real names in them.” He added, “He’s in the top #10 and until someone defeats @tbudcrawford he’s the #P4P Champ.”
