There were too many belts to begin with, but here’s another one! Last night, the boxers for the much-talked-about Matchroom vs. Queensberry event were revealed to the masses live from London. However, that’s not all people learned from the press conference for the June 1 fights. As it turns out, a new undisputed belt was introduced as well, leaving people in a less than happy mood.

If there was one thing the fans loved, it was that the belt was presented by the legendary Roberto Duran. The 72-year-old’s appearance in the event came after last month’s health scare, when his family members revealed that Duran “has suffered a health complication due to an atrioventricular blockade.” But there’s more!

A couple of days later, Duran’s family put everyone at ease by announcing he needed a pacemaker and was undergoing surgery. “He will be operated on, and he will be out in two days, so you can be calm,” said Felicidad Iglesias, Duran’s wife.

Nevertheless, Boxing Enthusiast shared a clip from Monday’s presser on X, captioning it “The legend Roberto Duran showcases the new Undisputed World Championship Belt.. Do you the think the belt looks good?” However, even Duran’s presence on the stage failed to dull the harsh responses fans left on the tweet about the new belt.

Comparisons are plaguing the comment section

The five vs. five event between Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren has had a lot of fans hyped since it was announced. However, all that hype for the fights seems to have been overshadowed by the new belt. The first user suggested the new red and black-themed belt looked like something out of WWE.

Forget about the previous user’s comparison; this legend compared the new belt with UFC’s ‘Baddest Motherf****r’ title belt. The user implied that the UFC belt was bad, but the new undisputed belt takes things to a whole new level of bad.

Meanwhile, the next user didn’t want to waste too many words expressing their disdain for the new belt, so he outright called the thing “ugly.”

The next user speculated that the organizers might not have been left with enough cash to hire a good designer because they spent all the money promoting the bout.

Someone else presented yet another comparison, but this one would hurt the designer more than anything. The fan seems to think the belt looks like something out of a children’s TV show called “The Power Ranger.”

The public might not like the belt, but Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will have to, because by the end of the May 18 undisputed heavyweight clash, one of them will have it on their waist! What did you think about the belt? Do you think the belt would deter fighters from becoming undisputed? Let us know your thoughts below.
