Undefeated middleweight star Jermall Charlo has been eyeing blockbuster matchups for quite some time now. After failing to earn Canelo Alvarez’s attention, he now wants to unify his WBC belt against IBF titlist Gennady Golovkin in what can be an epic fight. Following a win over Juan Macias Montiel in June, ‘Hitman’ is yet to announce his next appearance.

It’s clear that he doesn’t want to go for below-average opponents. And is desperately hunting for a career-defining battle. That said, as GGG is also out of an official fight, Charlo didn’t miss the chance to call him out.

The WBC champion took to social media and posted a fan-made poster of him against Gennady Golovkin. To make things more precise, he wrote, “Let’s make it happen.” Combat reporter Michael Benson forwarded it on Twitter, sending several fans into a frenzy.
Jermall Charlo vs Gennady Golovkin can be an intriguing contest at 160 lbs. It also makes sense, especially to stage a unification collision. However, Golovkin may not offer himself against Charlo as he is in the twilight of his career.

41-1-1 as a professional, ‘GGG’ has seen tremendous success in his boxing career. He can rightly call it a day now. However, he could opt to stick around to claim a lucrative payday before retiring. While it may validate a scrap between him and Charlo, Golovkin may have eyed some other names for his upcoming ride.
Jermall Charlo vs Gennady Golovkin can see a massive twist
Unfortunately, Brit legend Chris Eubank Jr. seems to top Jermall Charlo in bagging a shot at GGG. The veteran is looking to return to action and face Liam Williams in a warm-up kind of contest. Eubank Jr. wants to compete for the titles next, and GGG is on his radar.

Speaking with Sky Sports, promoter Ben Shalom said, “It is Eubank Jr’s big moment to get into contention for world title fights against the likes of Gennadiy Golovkin.”

Although Golovkin hasn’t confirmed anything from his side, he may opt to defend his belt against Eubank Jr rather than unifying it against Charlo. That being said, it’s too early to predict anything, as Charlo vs GGG is still a potential fight with a very minor lifeline left.
