If not for the COVID-19 hurdles, the lightweight thriller would have happened by now. However, it’s not too far till the lightweight champions put their respective world titles on the line against each other. While Lopez (15-0) is still undefeated in his pro run, Lomachenko (14-1) has a defeat against Orlando Salido on his resume. That said, Lopez vows to hand him another loss when they collide inside the ring.

Meanwhile,  Lomachenko is also gearing up for intense action and has appeared confident about claiming the win. However, he might not like how Lopez has drafted a possible outcome to the matchup.

Teofimo Lopez will not go easy on Vasiliy Lomachenko

The IBF lightweight champion recently came to live on Instagram via Fight Hype.com to interact with his fans. He was surrounded with several things going around his training camp as he prepares for Lomachenko.

One fan asked him if the fight will get past one round or is it going to be a shutter call. In response, Lopez said that he is planning to end the fight within the first three rounds.

“It ain’t going past three, I am putting money on it too coz I can’t stand (him),” said Lopez.

If happens for real, Lopez will become the new unified lightweight champion, advancing his pro record to 16-0. However, he should also be ready for a long night, especially when he is stepping against someone like Lomachenko. ‘Loma’ had a sensational run in 2019 with back-to-back wins against Anthony Crolla and Luke Campbell. Thus, you can never write him off in a fight.

If he gets to land his best shots, Lopez would be in deep misery. At the same time, the world titles on the line will make the lightweights put more effort into the matchup. Thus, regardless of who takes the win, fight fans will get to see a nail-biting event.

Lopez and Lomachenko will battle each other at ‘The Bubble’ in MGM Grand, Las Vegas on October 17.
