The recent altercation between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant that caused widespread controversy did not really surprise Mike Tyson. Having faced several such situations in his own career, Tyson is not new to brawls at press conferences. His press conference with Lennox Lewis was one of his more colorful events.

In an interaction with ES News, 55-year-old Tyson talked about several things surrounding the boxing world. Hence, he couldn’t help himself from throwing light on the nearing super-middleweight title unification fight. When asked about his thoughts on the Plant vs Alvarez scuffle, ‘Iron’ threw in his raw opinion.

“It didn’t look real,” said Mike Tyson.

Referring to Plant’s injury in that scuffle, Tyson added, “That’s just the beginning of the blood, he [Plant] is going to spill. This is just the beginning ni** a.”

Canelo Alvarez Sends a Positive Message to Jake Paul

Alvarez, 56-1-2, has been on a dominant run in the 168 lbs division. Having already captured the WBO, WBA, WBC titles, he is just short of Plant’s IBF strap. Although ‘Sweethands’ is still undefeated, he is a massive underdog in this contest. Hence, fellow American Mike Tyson has also walked away from backing him. However, that can actually intensify the scenario, if Plant bags a shocking win.
