Serrano’s nephew impreses her with his wrestling ability
Now and then, the Peurto Rican takes a break from sharing her training regime and gives glimpses about her lesser-known side. In a recent Instagram story, she revealed that her nephew, who happens to be 14, competed in a wrestling contest. In the bout, he was victorious and won spectacularly by pinning his opponent down. This impressed Serrano.
While contemplating him as a new partner, she stated, “Watching my nephew compete in his varsity wrestling tournament. Of course, he’s the only one in the white. I do submission wrestling for MMA now I have a strong partner to roll with.”
In another Instagram story, she remarked that he was bound to be good at fighting. She added, “It is in the blood. My 14-year-old Nephew is in his 1st High school varsity wrestling tournament today. He’s doing amazing against older more experienced wrestlers. Just won the second match by pin.”

However, she is cutting no corners in ensuring she masters all disciplines of MMA. In a Tweet, she stated, “I’m getting my @PFLMMA itch! This entire week I’m going in on MMA training. Today I did 1hr of kicking w/knees & elbow strikes Tomorrow is my Submission Wrestling (Which is what I do so I don’t have to do BJJ separately) It felt great kicking, the grappling is a nightmare.”
