Boxing legend Mike Tyson was amid controversy with streaming platform Hulu regarding the launch of his biopic ‘Mike’. The former heavyweight champion slammed Hulu for portraying his story without proper consent. He also showed his displeasure with the series on social media calling the streaming service ‘slave masters’.
Moreover, Iron Mike confirmed that he was involved in another biopic with actor Jamie Foxx playing the lead role. The film is set to be directed by ‘Training Day’ director Antoine Fuqua and produced by Martin Scorsese. And now it looks like Foxx might not be the latest victim of the changes in the movie. The Django Unchained actor has been working on the project for eight years while bulking to perfectly portray Tyson. However, Iron Mike has stated that Foxx might be out of the project altogether.
Jamie Foxx gets removed from the upcoming Mike Tyson biopic
A close Vegas business associate stated that Tyson had concerns regarding Fox’s age, as it would be hard to pass off a 54-year-old Foxx as a young Mike Tyson. “Mike has been telling people Jamie is no longer going to be playing him. They are friends apparently, but somehow the whole proposal of Jamie starting off as 20-something Mike is not going to work.” He said.
Moreover, he even revealed that the production team is even looking for athletes or actors who can play Tyson. He also claimed that it was a shame to see Foxx out after working so hard for this role. “They are scouring casting agencies for an athlete who can act. It is such a shame as Jamie has been telling people for years about playing Mike,” he added.
