However, this time, he’s seen sharing his viewpoint about pop culture. So, recently ‘Iron Mike’ invited the son of the iconic Michael Jackson, Prince Jackson. In the podcast, they discussed varying topics. Moreover, many of them were related to MJ’s legacy. However, one such agenda of discussion that bagged the attention of the masses was The King of Pop’s comparison to Harry Styles.

Harry Styles is a renowned British singer and actor. Furthermore, he is also a part of a famous band, “One Direction.” The band comprises famous singers like Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan. Moreover, the band has been inactive since 2015. Meanwhile, Harry’s individual albums have aced. Harry Styles released ‘Harry’s House’ in 2022. He earned multiple Grammy nominations and won three out of six Grammys. Not only this, he collected over 200 awards with One Direction. Furthermore, his album “Fine Line” topped the charts. He won Grammys, Brits, and ARIAs as a solo artist. Hence, the comparison with Michael Jackson started happening.

What did Mike Tyson and MJ’s son say about Styles’ comparison to ‘The King of Pop’?

Indeed, creating a musical legacy like ‘Smelly’ is a stellar achievement. So, DJ Whoo Kid started discussing Prince’s furious reaction to the comparison. To this, Mike Tyson first replied. Tyson elucidated his view: It doesn’t matter how many records you sell; it matters how many people are watching you, even if you fail. That’s all that matters, how many numbers you have.” Furthermore, this was in regard to the present-day norm of being popular. However, Prince was quick to elaborate on why it might be slightly demeaning to his father, MJ’s legacy.

Prince said, “It’s frustrating too. There are people that came before my generation, the technology generation, and they had to work their whole life to get to where they got to…What’s frustrating for me is not necessarily that Harry Styles is a great artist; it’s more so about these media publications that try to take away the title that was really worked hard for and earned in a different time than we are today.”  Moreover, he added that his father would visit places where people couldn’t speak English. However, they knew the lyrics of his father’s songs word for word. This was exceptional and reflected his stardom indeed.
