Former WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol is coming off a controversial majority decision loss at the hands of fellow countryman Artur Beterbiev earlier this month. As the 33-year-old does all he can to set up a rematch with the undisputed light-heavyweight champion, his ex-wife, Ekaterina, is plotting his downfall in court.

Having been married for almost a decade, the couple separated last year. Since then, Ekaterina has accused the former world champion of emotional and physical abuse through social media. It’s been a constant tirade of allegations and insults from Bivol’s ex-wife. According to various reports, their relationship turned sour after Bivol defeated Canelo Alvarez back in 2022.

She alleged that Bivol’s newfound fortune and success in the sport had corrupted him, leading to their separation. Regardless, before Bivol’s bout earlier this month, Ekaterina accused the boxer of being stingy with child support. She even accused the Russian boxer of hiding foreign bank accounts to get out of paying child support.

“Cancel Bivol for paying only [$] 1100 per month for both kids! He is hiding his foreign bank accounts,” Ekaterina said. The former couple have two sons together, Miron and Nikon Bivol. That being said, Ekaterina seems to be pursuing the child support case even further, which she revealed through her Instagram story today.

“So many sent me this video. Together we were winning. He already lost without me,” Ekaterina wrote while sharing a video. “And I’m very glad that it’s without me.” Despite Bivol’s loss, many felt the Russian boxer had done enough to tip the balance in his favor. However, the scorecards from the judges said otherwise, especially Judge Pawel Kardyni, who scored the bout 112-116 in Beterbiev’s favor despite the closely contested nature of the fight.

Regardless, Ekaterina continued, “At least now my goal is to defeat him in court. Although it is weird and even stupid, that I have to fight for child support…” It’s also worth mentioning that Ekaterina had already won custody of their two sons. On a separate note, this wasn’t the limit of Ekaterina’s rage.

Ekaterina revealed secrets to defeat Dmitry Bivol

Before Bivol and Beterbiev entered the ring on 12th October in Riyadh, Bivol’s ex-wife came out and said that she was supporting Artur Beterbiev and rooting for him to beat her ex-husband. Ekaterina went as far as to reveal all the injuries her ex-husband had suffered over his boxing career for Beterbiev to exploit.

“I want to tell you everything I know: he has a stress fracture of a vertebra in his back, all his hands have been operated on and not just once, one elbow for sure, very sore knees, his left ear is constantly swelling, it has been broken many times, and fluid has accumulated in his eye many times, sometimes he can’t see well,” Ekaterina confessed.

While Beterbiev or his corner didn’t look to exploit these injuries, it just goes to show the sort of animosity Ekaterina harbors for her ex-husband.

Despite numerous accusations from his ex-wife, Dmitry Bivol has yet to make any public statements regarding the matter. Meanwhile, Ekaterina continues to press her allegations, seemingly pursuing a court case related to child support payments. What are your thoughts on this situation?
