Martin spoke to ‘Behind the Gloves’ and gave his take on the fight. “It was traumatic, you know. It was crazy. I wasn’t expecting that, and I’m pretty sure nobody was expecting that.

“He said his suit was too heavy and stuff like that, you know. All the other accusations and whatever, whatnot,” said Martin.

These comments showed that Fury surprised Martin by knocking him out; however, it also showed that Martin favored Wilder to win. All said and done, it is clear that the American does not agree with Wilder’s accusations and excuses for the loss.

Charles Martin says Deontay Wilder’s corner did the right thing

One of Wilder’s rants was directed towards his former trainer Mark Breland for throwing in the towel. The entire boxing community ridiculed the former champion for it. And now, Martin also had his say.

He admitted that despite the defeat, at least Wilder got to go out on his shield since it was his coaches who threw in the towel.

However, he admitted, “His corner threw in the towel, which I say personally is a good idea because sometimes it ain’t worth it. It just ain’t worth it.”
