The rumors for the Fury and Joshua fight dragged on for weeks. However, news finally broke that the two had signed their contracts for a two-fight deal. Anthony Joshua has now given his honest reaction to the news.
The unified champion spoke to DAZN and said, “Definitely it does. [excite him] I feel good, I feel the longer they leave it, the harder it is for them because I’m improving. I’m still an improvement fighter, I’m getting stronger, I’m getting smarter, which is a blessing.”
This showed that, just like the fans, ‘AJ’ is pleased to get this fight over the line. He then added how he doesn’t bother with the ‘glitz and glamor’ surrounding the event. However, he admitted that it’s part of the event.
Joshua said, “It’s a balance, isn’t it? It’s going to be massive; it’s going to be a spectacle. But at the same time, with or without it, I’m not interested because it’s just, me and another opponent in the other side of the ring.”

Why is Anthony Joshua happy with the announcement?
The former Olympic gold medalist made no secret of his confidence about the fight. Despite this, many experts have said this will be AJ’s hardest fight. So why is Joshua pleased to get the deal over the line?
The negotiations were long and drawn out for months. ‘AJ’ was the one who called out Fury after his victory over Kubrat Pulev. And after talks started positively, there was a delay in the announcement. Therefore, this caused impatience among fans.

Moreover, Fury claimed the fight was not as close as reported, and he was skeptical of facing ‘AJ’. In addition, ‘The Gypsy King’ claimed he stopped training for the fight because he had no date mentioned to him.
Therefore, ‘AJ’ is now pleased that the deal is over the line and can proceed with his training for the fight. However, they still have not announced the other aspects like the date and the venue. Nonetheless, as Joshua rightly said, this fight promises to be a spectacle.
