“It’s Going to be a Tough Fight”- Tyson Fury Warns Anthony Joshua Ahead of Kubrat Pulev Matchup

Tyson Fury may have just sent the whole boxing community into a frenzy. The ‘Gypsy King’ has cited some welcome news to fans looking for a big fight next year.

The undefeated champion spoke to talkSPORT ahead of his next fight and offered an update on his plans for 2021. He teased at a potential mega fight against his fellow heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua. Despite this, the champion also warned the Englishman about his next fight.

Speaking to Michael Benson on talkSPORT he said, “When we get in there, whenever it may be… We both got to get throughout upcoming fights… And you never know. Heavyweight boxing, it’s not a given. Anything can happen at this level.”

He added, “Specially when you’re fighting young and hungry fighters who have an opportunity to become a world champion, you got to fight out of your skin.”

Fury also explained why Pulev will be hungry for success. He said, “And these guys like, the opponents that…. Pulev and that… He’s been waiting for a world title shot for the last 5 years since he lost to Wladimir Klitschko.

“So It’s going to be a tough fight for him [Joshua],” suggesting that Joshua needs to focus on his next opponent before their eventual mega-fight can be made.

However, he went on to say, “Providing we both come through our next fights, then I would like to think that this fight, me and Joshua will finally get made…

“Years later, when we’re both on the top of our careers, both world heavyweight champions… and I’d like to think that It can happen twice next year.”

Thus, it is clear to see that even Fury believes this will be a fantastic spectacle.

Will the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight even be possible?

By now it is no secret that the two want to make the fight happen and are working towards it rather unyieldingly. However, there could be some complications that could stop the fight from happening, especially in 2021.

Oleksandr Usyk is a mandatory for Anthony Joshua and claims he wants to fight him next. Fury will not be wiling to wait for Joshua to fight another opponent before getting into the ring with him.

As things stand, although both the camps are interested in making the fight happen, the fight is nowhere close to being made. We will have to wait and see how it all pans out. But as Tyson Fury rightly said, they have to both first get through their next fights.
