Ahead of the highly anticipated trilogy with the Kazakh legend Gennady Golovkin, the Mexican star entertained one of the biggest boxing business deal. In an exclusive interview with DAZN Boxing, the champ was asked, “I got ask you before this Bivol loss. I almost forgot that you lost the fight. People were looking at you as you were undefeated. I wanna talk about Floyd. Recently, he said that they gonna fight a rematch against Conor McGregor. Is that make any sense? Would you be open to that?”

To which, the 31-year-old responded, “No, but for business. I guess it’s good. He is doing it for business, not for legacy.”

Next, the interviewer asked Canelo’s opinion on whether he would like to fight McGregor for money if the opportunity came.

Admitting the fact that it would only be for business, he said, “Yeah, at some point maybe not now, because I got a mission. At some point, why not? But we’re talking about business, not legacy.”

This argument came forth after two-time former lightweight champion in UFC, McGregor and former undefeated boxing legend ‘Money’ Mayweather made headlines for talks over a rematch.

What offer did Floyd Mayweather make to Conor McGregor for a rematch?

After stopping McGregor in 2017 in one of the biggest crossovers in the history of boxing, ‘The Pretty Boy’ made another offer to his rival to repeat the same. According to reports, the 50-0 legend has offered over $100million to his rival.
