“It’s Not On” – Frank Warren Provides an Update on Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder may not fight this year. While the trilogy contest has been touted since the rematch in February, it probably won’t happen soon.

Fury is adamant about getting inside the ring by the end of 2020. If not for Wilder, he is also ready to square off against the unified heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua.

While there are so many theories emerging about Fury vs Wilder 3, Frank Warren gave his thoughts regarding the fruition of the matchup.

Frank Warren wants the best for Tyson Fury

In a recent interaction with Seconds Out, Warren shed light on the possibility of the fight. While the fight was set for December 19, things have drastically changed.

Talking about it, Warren said, “Well, the situation is that he will fulfill all his contractual obligations, and he has told me categorically that he wants to fight this year.

“[At] the moment, I don’t see how the fight going on with Deontay [Wider]. That’s the conversation we had. It’s not on so, he will fight and if it doesn’t go on this year, then Tyson basically said ‘knock it on the head.’ ”

Fury and Wilder have fought each other twice. The first fight ended in a controversial draw. However, it was a lopsided win for Fury in the rematch.

Overpowering Wilder from the very first round, Fury secured two early knockdowns. He made the final statement in round seven by stopping ‘The Bronze Bomber’ for the WBC heavyweight title. In response, Wilder couldn’t showcase any of his skills.

Thus, the American gladiator needs to accept the trilogy fight if he wants to get back his WBC strap. It will also ensure his dominance in the division.
