WBC interim heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte is set for the biggest test in his career against Alexander Povetkin. Alexander is one of the most experienced fighters in the division and has only been defeated twice.

Also, Povetkin is a former Olympic gold medalist and has defeated some of the biggest fighters in the division.

Despite everything Povetkin has achieved, Dillian Whyte revealed that he’s used to the pressure and considers Povetkin as just another puzzle to be solved.

Dillian Whyte reveals he’s ready for the biggest challenge of his career

Whyte admits that though Povetkin might pose a challenge, he is ready for whatever he may face in the boxing ring.

He said, “Povetkin is the most technical fighter I’ve fought. He has beaten a lot of top guys. He’s an Olympic gold medalist. He’s only lost two fights. When the bell goes, it doesn’t matter if there’s 100,000 people there or 100 people. You are zoned in.

“When I’m in shape, you’ve got problems, because I can do what I like to do. I don’t mind-blowing up because I can recover, go again. Whatever he wants to do, I’m cool with it.

“The story of my life is pressure. I’ve been under pressure my entire life. This is just another puzzle. There is more pressure because of the future, but that’s in the future. I’m fighting a consummate professional, so I’m not bothered about Tyson Fury. I’m bothered about Povetkin,” Whyte concluded.

This is undoubtedly the interim champion’s biggest fight, as this might give Whyte a chance to fight Tyson Fury.

Dillian Whyte is Tyson Fury’s mandatory challenger for the WBC heavyweight title. However, there was some controversy regarding this fight.

Tyson Fury is heading towards the trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder. Also, he’s agreed to a contract in principle to face Anthony Joshua.
However, Eddie Hearn revealed that if Tyson Fury turns down the fight, Anthony Joshua will face Dillian Whyte instead.
