Jaime Munguia Nationality, Ethnicity, Origin: Is He Mexican?

At just 25, Jaime Munguia is already on the verge of becoming one of the biggest names in boxing. He started competing professionally in 2013 at the young age of 17. Since then, he has fought 37 times at multiple weight divisions. Today, he is undefeated with 37 wins on his record, has been the WBO super welterweight champion.

He even defended his belt five more times against the likes of Patrick Allotey and Liam Smith after first winning it in 2018 against Sadam Ali. After completely dominating the super-welterweight class, Jaime Munguia decided to move up a class to middleweight (160 lbs).

Munguia first fought Tureano Johnson at 160 in 2020; he closed the show in round 6 and cut open Johnson’s upper lip into two. With this win, he won the WBO Inter-Continental middleweight title. He went on to defend his title against Kamil Szeremeta in June 2021 via RTD.

The 25-year-old is turning out to be the next big thing in boxing; he is now even being compared to boxing’s p4p king and the undisputed super-middleweight champ, Canelo Alvarez.

Munguia was born in Tijuana, Mexico, and continues to reside and train there.
