The YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul, has been the talk of the sport for a while now. The internet sensation rose to prominence in the boxing world after he beat Nate Robinson in 2020. Subsequently, he got a lot of attention thanks to his ambitious call-outs.

In 2021, Paul had a high-profile bout against former MMA champion Ben Askren. He demolished the former UFC fighter in the first round. And despite speculation about his next opponent, Paul has claimed he will take a break from boxing.

The 3-0 boxer spoke to Chael Sonnen on his YouTube channel and said, “Me and my team are just figuring out what makes the most sense and, I fought three times in the past, like, 15-16 months. So I’ve been pretty active, and it’s taken like a toll on me. I’ve just felt tired after the fight. Like even the night after, I was like, ‘this is such a relief, I won.’”

This comment showed that the YouTuber would not rush into his next fight. He then confirmed, “I was just sitting there, and I didn’t even want to, like, stand up. This has been the craziest 16 months of my life, I need a little bit of a break.”

Would it be a good idea for Jake Paul to take a break?

The comments from Paul showed that the internet sensation is serious about taking time off from the sport. While this will draw more criticism from fans, it may not be the best decision for the unbeaten superstar to take a break.
