Jake Paul makes his case to fight Alvarez

It is needless to say Alvarez is a lot more experienced and skilled than Paul. However, it bears a mention that Paul is substantially taller and carries more weight. In an interview with MMA Hour, Paul banks on his advantages to claim that a fight with Alvarez, despite the general narrative is realistic. In addition, he asserts that he is getting better with time and would be skilled enough to defeat the champion.

He stated, “I think the path that I am on now, tease me up, in the future, to fight Canelo. It is even showing him that I can do 10-12 rounds with you. I have done that with real levitates professional boxers and beat them. When I beat these guys, in the year or two to come or continue to raise this level of opposition, I think me vs. Canelo becomes an interesting fight.”

One can question, debate, or even criticize Paul for the comments made by him. However, he substantiates his claim by drawing a comparison with the Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou fight. A few weeks ago, the former UFC Heavyweight champion fought against all odds and doubts to give Fury a tough fight. One of the major factors in his performance was his strength and power despite being less experienced. While comparing, Paul stated, “A lot of people are going to be like, oh Jake is going to get destroyed.

But it eventually comes down to whether Alvarez would like to face the YouTuber-turned-boxer. Let’s take a look at what he had to suggest.

Canelo Alvarez gives Paul a reality check

Unlike many boxers, Alvarez does not have resentment towards Paul. If anything, he finds his work ethic and performance commendable. However, he did not shy away from expressing the fact that he is biting more than he can chew to face him in the ring. When asked about the fight against Paul, he responded, ““My level is another level,” but while giving credit, “I think he needs to do what he’s enjoying and that’s it. He needs to calm down and start calling out people with other levels. I think he needs to focus on what he’s doing. He’s doing good things.”
